I’m posting here a few of the homilies I’ve given over the past 30 years as a Roman Catholic deacon at St. David the King Parish in Princeton Junction, NJ. I am grateful to this parish for being my home for so many years, and for the friendship and support I enjoy there. In addition to parish ministry and prison outreach, I also offer spiritual direction to individuals from a variety of faith backgrounds.
You’ll immediately notice that there are many Sundays and feasts for which I haven’t posted anything. Those may be days that for whatever reason I haven’t preached on yet – or, I once wrote something and now can’t imagine I ever thought it was any good, and therefore haven’t posted it.
I’m eager to hear from other people who have homilies they might like to share, or comments on what I’ve written. Feel free to write to me.
I’ve also written about the permanent diaconate in a few places. Even though it’s officially out of print, it looks like Amazon.com still has used copies of my little book about the diaconate (that’s not me on the cover). I also have a chapter about the working life of deacons in The Deacon Reader, and this reflection on the diaconate in Commonweal. I also just self-published a booklet intended for use in parish baptism preparation programs.
